Missal® prayerbook
|
The Leaflet Missal® prayerbook, founded by Father
Paul Bussard of the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis, has been available
since 1929. It is the ancestor of all periodical missals. As of now,
the Leaflet Missal prayerbook is published in six issues a year, distributed
to parishes, schools, and individuals. Why do people love the Leaflet
Missal prayerbook?
-
No missal of comparable size has larger print. It's easy to read
and easy to use.
-
Its convenient size fits in the pew rack, can be held easily in
your hands, and does not pile up on the floor.
-
The Scripture readings, as far as possible, are presented without
a page turn, as in the new Lectionary. This feature avoids the
distraction of page rustling and noise.
-
The uniquely beautiful art work of Virginia Broderick adorns the Leaflet
Missal prayerbook throughout, inspiring prayer and highlighting
the meaning of the Scripture.
-
Music for the Psalms and acclamations is presented in place, to
avoid page turns and foster participation.
-
The weekday Masses are more complete than those in other missals.
For example, the complete verses of the Psalm for each day are
printed, with the refrain after each verse. This feature makes
the Leaflet Missal prayerbook a great resource for daily
prayer.
-
People love to sing the hymns and Psalms. These songs come from
many publishers and many composers, traditional and contemporary.
The music is the strongest feature of the Leaflet Missal prayerbook.
