The word "missalette" here is used in the generic sense of a "small missal for
the people, published on a periodical basis." This is the established usage among
Roman Catholics in the United States since the 1960s. No reference is intended
to any specific prayerbook.
Please note that registration for trademarks "Monthly Missalette" and "My Missalette" is
no longer valid. Nor can we find any registered trademark for the single word, "missalette," by
itself, without a modifying adjective. The use of the single word "missalette" should
not be understood to mean that publications of ACP are approved or endorsed by
any other publisher. By the same token, ACP does not approve or endorse the publications
of any other publisher.
For confirmation of lack of current registration for these trademarks, you
can visit the U.S. Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)
of the Federal Government. The serial numbers of the dead registered trademarks
are 73002252, ("Monthly Missalette"), 74589594 ("Seasonal Missalette"),
75113129 ("Monthly
Missalette"), and 75414124 ("My Missalette"). Registration
for all these marks is abandoned, cancelled, or expired. (Note, however, that
a second registration, 3526447, has been made for "Seasonal Missalette," as
of November 4, 2008. This trademark, the two words together, was the property
of the J.S. Paluch Company until 2019. In that year, ownership passed to another corporation.
